The By-laws shall be numbered on a decimal system.
Procedure at a General Meeting

Except where inconsistent with the Rules or By-laws all General Meetings shall be conducted in accordance with the practice and procedure of Parliament.

A motion may be amended or withdrawn by the mover with the leave of the seconder.

Any motion or amendment not seconded shall not be discussed
-
As soon as a debate on a question shall be concluded the Chairman shall put the question and if the same be not heard shall again state it and the Chairman shall state the decision of the meeting whether the motion be carried or lost.

No question or amendment shall be proposed which in such substance is the same as any question which during the same meeting has been resolved in the affirmative or negative.

When amendments have been adopted the main question as amended shall be put.

When an amendment is proposed the discussion shall be confined to such amendment until the same be disposed of.

Every member desiring to speak on the motion shall rise in his place and address himself to the chairman. When two or more members rise the Chairman shall call upon the member who first rose in his/her place to speak.

A member may speak on any question which is before the meeting, or upon any proposed amendment or upon a question which is proposed or seconded by himself but not otherwise.

No member may speak twice to a question.

A member who has already spoken may be heard to explain some of the material in his/her speech but shall not introduce no new matter.

A reply shall be allowed to the mover of a substantive motion but not to the mover of an amendment at any meeting.

At the close of the discussion on any motion or amendment and before putting such motion the Chairman shall have the right to speak to such motion. At no other time shall the Chairman speak to any question except by leave of the meeting, but if he desires to take part in a debate he shall vacate the chair for the time being and another chairman shall be appointed.

Any member using offensive, unbecoming or objectionable words to another member and not explaining or retracting the same or offering apologies for the use thereof to the satisfaction of the Chairman upon being required to do so by the Chairman may be censured or otherwise dealt with as the meeting thinks fit and any member called to order shall sit down unless permitted to explain.
Committee

Any By-law may be made, amended or rescinded at a meeting of the Committee provided that every member of the Committee has been notified of the proposed change at least three clear days before the meeting.

At the first meeting of the Committee after the AGM there shall be elected two delegates to Sports Council of the University of Western Australia, to hold office till the end of the University Year and two delegates to the Amateur Rowing Association of Western Australia, to hold office until the next AGM.
Subscriptions
The Annual subscription of the Club shall be determined by the Committee in each year.
Regattas

In every year the Committee shall conduct a regatta at which races between the various faculties shall be contested.

No one shall be eligible to row in Inter-faculty crews of any description who is not a member of his/her faculty club.
Discipline and Powers

In the event of any dispute between members of the Club or of objectionable behaviour on the part of any member the Captain shall have final powers of decision or censure providing that in the absence of the Captain the Vice-Captain or any member of the Committee may act with similar authority.

No member of the University Boat Club shall row in a crew other than a crew chosen by the Selection Committee of the Club without the permission of the Club Committee.
Uniform

The uniform of the Club shall consist of

for Inter-Varsity contests of a green singlet with gold piping with the Club monogram in gold and blue on the chest, with U.W.A.B.C. on back in gold and white knickers.

for all other crews except inter-collegiate crews and inter-faculty crews white singlet with green piping and club crest.
-
for inter-faculty and inter-collegiate crews the respective uniforms of their faculty or college.
-
All crews rowing from the club house shall be suitably attired.
Strangers
No person not a member of the club shall be admitted to the club unless introduced by a club member.
Display of Rules and By-laws
A copy of the Rules and By-laws shall be kept posted up in a conspicuous part of the shed.
Breach of By-laws
Any member found guilty of a breach of any By-law shall be liable to suspension from the privileges of membership for a period not exceeding one month.
Colour Awards
The conditions for recommendation for colour awards shall be:

Full Blue
A member shall be recommended for a full blue award for winning an Inter-Varsity race, for winning an Open State Championship race or for gaining selection m a Kings Cup crew.
A member who, but for exceptional circumstances would have qualified for tins standard, may be considered for recommendation for full blue award.
Exceptional performance m Inter-Varsity competition may be considered for recommendation for the award of full blue.

Half Blue
A member may be considered for recommendation for a half blue award for representing the University in Inter-Varsity competition. He may also be considered for outstanding service to the Club for a minimum of two years, having reached a standard of rowing comparable to Junior Class.
Shed Rules
Every member joining the Club shall be given a copy of the shed rules.
Breach of Shed Rules
Any member found guilty of a breach of shed rules, shall, not withstanding any penalty occurred under the provisions of the shed rules, be liable to suspension from the privileges of membership for a period not exceeding twelve months.
Speed Boat
The Committee shall from time to time authorise certain members to drive the Club's speedboats. No other person shall be deemed to have authority to drive the speedboats.
Oarsman of the Year

The University Oarsman of the Year shall be the Club's most proficient and skilled oarsman, regardless of his/her racing success.

Nominations for the award may be made by U.W.A.B.C. coaches.

The selection shall be made by a committee consisting of a representative of the Club Committee (the Captain if not nominated himself) and the coaches of Senior, Junior and Inter-Varsity crews.
-
All meetings of the Committee shall be in camera, and the award shall be announced at the Annual Dinner.
